Dillon McCowan Makes Speedweeks Debut

Dillon McCowan made the first-ever Speedweeks start of his young career on Thursday evening at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.). (Heath Lawson image)

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event drew 51 entries to the 4/10-mile oval. Dillon found himself behind the eight ball early in the night with only the 23rd best time in his qualifying group. After finishing seventh in his heat race and ninth in his B-Main McCowan's night drew to an early end.

After seeing Friday night's program washed away by evening rain, the action at Golden Isles Speedway continued on Saturday. Unfortunately, Dillon battled the handle throughout the night before falling short of qualifying for the feature.
